'Defining Woman'
Women's Ministry

The Defining Woman Women's Ministry is a village of women holding each other up in the faith and holding each other down in the spirit. It is comprised of organized gatherings with life-changing lessons, discussions, and activities that equip and empower women for their journey through life and to encourage other women along the way.

The Defining Woman Workshops include:


Session 1: Defining A Woman

  1. Workshop participants will share their different interpretations of a woman.

  2. Participants will establish what a “Real Woman” is based on scripture. This we do with a memorable method the participants can use to teach others.

  3. Participants will evaluate themselves in light of what they learned a "Real Woman" is.

  4. Participants will discuss different ways the world tries to break down the “Real Woman.”


Session 2: Woman Up! Scenes from “Fences”

  • Participants will use the model of a “Real Woman” established in session one, to evaluate if the character of a woman.

  • Participants will evaluate where Rose and her husband Troy Maxson went wrong and the potential causes of their behavior and actions, and how it can affect a woman.

  • Participants will develop memorable “Woman Up” strategies to address Rose and Troy's errors as well as decisions and experiences that have happened in their own lives.


Session 3: Building A Community of Women

Participants will evaluate the significance of wise counsel in a woman's life. They will analyze Troy and Rose's actions and the counsel that was given. Participants will use the strategies learned in the workshops to address their own issues with the goal of healing and being there for one another.


Session 4: Shifting-Inner-Purpose

Participants will examine themselves through the tainted lense of the colors and labels the world has but on them verses the beauty of God's divine design and the colors of the character of God. Healing happens as shift happens.


Rite Of Passage 

A Rite of Passage service will be held to honor the participants who have completed the workshop sessions. Their families and friends are invited out to celebrate them.
