Men's Ministry
The "Real Man" Men's Ministry addresses issues men face and offers solutions for them. The goal of the ministry is to addresses issues men face and offers solutions for them to develop "Man Up Strategies''
The "Real Man" Men’s Rite of Passage is a 3 session workshop that addresses the issues men face and offers solutions for them. The workshops conclude with a Rites of Passage ceremony.
Session 1: Defining A Man
Participants will share their different interpretations of a man, then establish what a “Real Man” is with a memorable method the participants can use to teach others.
Session 2: Man Up! Scenes from “Fences”
Participants will use the model of a “Real man” to evaluate if the main character in the movie fences (Troy Maxson) is a “man down” (a male not functioning as a Godly man should). They will also discuss the causes of his behaviors and beliefs and develop "Man Up Strategies'' that can be used to address Troy's errors. This model is used as a basis to discuss and evaluate decisions we as men have made in our own lives.
Session 3: Building A Community Of Men
Participants will addresses issues men face and offers solutions for them. They will analyze Troy's actions and the counsel he was given by individuals. Participants will use the strategies learned in the workshops to address their own issues with the goal of healing and being there for one another.
Rite Of Passage
A Rite of Passage service will be held to honor the participants who have completed the workshop sessions. Their families and friends are invited out to celebrate them.
